3lectromode introduces a series of customizable kits. The design objective of the kits is to create accessible yet stylish DIY wearables which fuse fashion with electronics.

The kits come in a series of customizable designs featuring a selection of patterns, beautiful custom graphics printed directly on ready to use fabric, interactive components (leds, kinetics), sensors (light, temperature, accelerometer), pre-programmed electronic components (lilypad arduinos circuit, silver high-conductive thread) and of course detailed instructions to create a truly unique interactive wearables. The dresses are mini-battery operated and come with a recharger. They can be hand washed, hung to dry and ironed providing the batteries are removed.

The one of a kind graphics, printed directly onto the pattern fabric, have been created to fit the exact cut of the dress and double as the guidelines for integrating the circuit’s conductive threads.

The light sensors respond to direct light fluctuations playfully animating a series of leds, which turn on and off in accordance to changing ambient luminosity. The darker the environment the more active the leds.

The temperature sensors create a slow changing fluctuation of led lights which, slowly turning on and off, shift from one light to many depending on ambient temperature readings.

The accelerometer sensor creates an intimate correlation between the rhythm of the wearer and the activation of the leds, the more vigorous the movement the more frenetic the display of leds become.
